Handmade Candles in Pretty Glass Tealight Holders

These little tealight holders look so pretty with your own design reflected on the outside. You also might like to make your own candle! Take a look at our Candle Making Tips for more information.

  • Store your markers horizontally (flat) and always replace the cap immediately after using, even if you are just taking a short break. This will stop the ink from drying out.
  • Step 1Shake your markers well before use.
  • Step 2Press the tip of your marker gently & repeatedly to start the ink flow. Do this on some scrap paper, you may need to repeat this step each time you use your markers to get the ink flowing!
  • Step 3Decorate your tealight holder using the markers.
  • You may like to plan your design on paper first.
  • Step 5Once dry, place your tealight holder in a cold household oven. Once the temperature has reached 160°C, bake your tealight holder for 90 minutes to heat set your design.
  • Remember when baking your tealight holder, DO NOT pre-heat the oven. The difference in temperature may cause your tealight holder to crack. Instead, put your tealight holder in a cold oven, then turn the oven on.
  • Step 7Alternatively you may like to decorate your tealight holder in tissue paper, sequins and ModPodge.
