- Step 1Fold the paper in half diagonally six times so you have a thin triangular shape. Carefully unfold the paper.
- Step 2Pinch the point in the centre of the paper and run your hands down the paper to crumple it.
- Step 3Still holding the point in the centre, fold the paper back on itself. Flatten the paper around this fold. Repeat this process until you run out of paper. You should have created about three rings of folds.
- Step 4Wrap one end of a chenille stem around the ends of the tissue paper to secure the base of the carnation.
- Step 5Carefully separate the folds on each ring. Make the edge of each ring curve like an ‘s’ as it shapes to make the carnation look more realistic.
- Step 6Squash the folds together if they begin to separate too far from the centre to ensure the flower stays intact.
