Wooden Planets & Stars

Get creative and explore different techniques as you make an out of this world craft!
Follow our decoration guide or come up with your own decorative techniques. This open ended craft is perfect for allowing individual creativity and encouraging self led play and learning.
  • Step 1Begin by giving your planets and stars a coat of white paint. Allow to dry. This is not essential but provides a good base for painting.
  • Step 2Paint your planets and stars with bright paint. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3Gently paint over the shapes with a coat of glitter paint. This will add a touch of sparkle.
  • Step 4Sprinkle glitter over your shapes while the paint is still wet.
  • Step 5To add texture roughly rip up some confetti into small pieces. Attach with glue.
  • Step 6You could also add texture by pressing Super Light Air Dry Clay onto the surface of the shapes.
  • Step 8Use these techniques or ones of your own to decorate a whole gazaxy fo wooden shapes that you can then use to create a school display, decorate your bedroom roof or use in other craft projects!
