Step 1Choose the colours of clay you wish to use for your frame. You will need three colours – the base, the icing, and the sprinkles.
Step 2Take your base colour clay and press it onto the frame. Mould it into the round shape of the doughnut and ensure you cover the inside and outside edge of the frame. We have chosen not to cover the top hanging part of the frame to emphasise the doughnut shape. Mould and spread the clay around with your fingers so it is a thin, even layer.
Step 3Take your icing colour clay and begin to add it on top of the base layer. Shape the clay to look like icing. Take your time adding this layer, as once you press the icing colour on it cannot be removed and will stick to the base clay.
Step 4Now it’s time to make the sprinkles! Take a small amount of your chosen colour clay and roll it out into a long thin piece. Pinch short lengths of clay from this piece and smooth the ends to create sprinkle shapes. Press the sprinkles on top of the icing then allow all the clay to dry completely.
Step 5Download, print and cut out the template provided. Cover paper is recommended for a sturdy banner. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Add glue to the grey section of the ribbon banner and attach it to the back of the frame at the bottom. Glue your chosen photo in place at the back of the frame. Allow to dry.
You can use the frame as a guide for cutting your photo to the required size.
Step 6Cut a 30cm piece of jute twine and thread it through the hole in the top of the frame. Tie the ends of the twine together to create a hanger.
Step 7Your ‘I Love You a HOLE Lot’ Doughnut Frame is now ready to gift to someone special!
