Stencilled Cushion Cover

Step 1Pre-wash your cushion cover prior to painting.
Remember when painting a double sided item to insert some newspaper or card inside so that the paint doesn’t seep through onto the back.
Step 3Once your cushion cover is dry, iron carefully so that you have a nice flat surface to work on. Adult assistance required.
Cover your work surface with a plastic splash mat before you start painting!
Step 5Decide where you would like your stencil and carefully place it onto your cushion cover.
Step 6Using a dabbing motion, paint the sections of your stencil with the colours you have chosen.
Dabbing the paint on rather than brushing will minimise paint seeping under the stencil.
Step 8After stencilling your cushion cover, allow to dry and then heat seal with an iron. Remember to cover your design with baking paper to prevent the iron from sticking. Once heat sealed, stuff your cushion with wadding and it’s now ready for resting your head on!
