Step 1Print the template provided and cut out the pieces. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Use your circle template as a guide to cut out two orange felt circles and your stalk template to cut out a green felt stalk.
Step 3Thread a needle with a length of orange embroidery thread and sew your felt circles together with a back stitch. Adult supervision is recommended when using sewing needles. Sew around the circles and 1cm in from the edge to prevent fraying. Stop sewing approximately 5cm before you reach the start of your stitches. Tie a knot to secure and trim any excess thread.

Step 4Use the gap you left between your stitches to turn your pin cushion inside out.
Step 5Stuff your pin cushion with a handful of wadding, making sure it has enough room left inside to still be squishy!
Step 6Use your needle and embroidery thread to sew the gap closed. Tie a knot to secure and trim any excess.
Step 7Thread 1m of orange yarn through your needle and tie a double knot at the other end. Sew up through the centre of your felt cushion and pull gently until it reaches the double knot. Place the yarn over one edge of your pumpkin and sew back up through the same point in the centre. Pull your yarn tight to create your pumpkin’s first rib. Repeat this step seven more times spaced evenly around your pumpkin, to create eight ribs in total.
Step 8Thread the yarn through the smaller end of your felt stalk and back down through your pumpkin’s centre. Tie a double knot at the bottom of your pumpkin to secure your yarn. Trim any excess.
Step 9Your Pumpkin Pin Cushion is now ready for your next sewing project!
