Step 1Print out the template provided. We recommend printing onto cardboard as this will provide a great surface for decorating and also provide some weight to make hanging the mobile a little easier.
Step 2Decorate your template using watercolours, allow to dry and then cut out the pieces. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Once the pieces have been cut, out you can flip them over and decorate the back as well so there’s no blank side when you hang the mobile and the pieces spin freely.
Step 3Take the strip of clouds and bend around into a cylinder shape. Hold in place using tape.
Step 4Use a pin to poke a small hole at the base of the sun and 2 small holes, one on either side, of the top rim of the clouds. Thread a length of craft line through the hole in the sun and then attach the ends to the clouds by threading an end through each of the holes and tying a knot. Create another small hole at the top of the sun and loop another piece of craft line through it, tying it at the top to create a hanger. The sun and clouds will form the top of your mobile.
Step 5Take the tree and water pieces and attach 3 lengths of craft line to it using the same method as above. Use the pin to create small holes on the left and right hand edges, as well as one at the top of the tree, then thread a craft line strand through each hole and tie a knot. Create holes in the top and bottom of each of the arrows using the pin and thread them onto the strands of craft line (2 on either side and 1 above the tree) making sure they are pointing upwards. This is to show evaporation. You may need to tie knots to make sure the arrows stay in place.
Step 6Take the mountains and repeat the same process as you did with the tree. Attach the 3 strands of craft line and then this time thread on the rain drops. This is to show precipitation.
Step 7Finally, attach your evaporation and precipitation pieces to the clouds by creating small holes with the pin and tying the craft line in place. Your mobile is now ready to hang!
