Racing Reindeer

They won’t be dashing through the snow, but these reindeer are ready to race! Set up your track to race your reindeer with friends and family and see whose can run the furthest before they topple over.
  • Step 1Download and print out the template provided onto cover paper. Decorate your reindeer using coloured pencils.
  • Step 2Cut out your reindeer’s body and antlers. On the body template, make sure you have cut along the inner dotted lines to create three sections on each end of your template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 3Mountain fold the four outer sections on the body to create a 90° angle. These will be your reindeer’s legs.
  • Step 4Valley fold the tail section to a 90° angle.
  • Step 5Valley fold the remaining middle tab and mountain fold the end to create a 90° angle. This will be your reindeer’s head.
  • Step 6Use a glue stick to secure your antlers onto the neck of your reindeer. Be careful to keep your antlers centred, or your reindeer will be unbalanced! Allow to dry.
  • Step 7Set up a flat track for your reindeer with a slight incline. This can be done by placing a thick book underneath one half of another book, as shown.
  • Step 8Place your reindeer so it is standing at the top of the track and give it a gentle nudge on the side. If your reindeer falls forward, try lowering your track. Your reindeer’s curved feet will rock the reindeer from side to side, making it run down the track!
