Step 1Download and print the templates provided. We recommend printing onto cover paper as it is great for decorating and sturdy for construction. Decorate the first page of the templates using markers or pencils then cut out around the outer black line. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Mountain fold along the grey dotted lines of the template, folding the paper around to create a triangular prism shape.
Step 3Apply glue along the tab and press inside the opposite edge to stick the ends together. Allow to dry. This is the main part of the spinner.
Step 4Take the second page of templates. You can either decorate and cut out the three template pieces, or lay the templates over coloured cover paper and use them as a guide for cutting. We have used the template as a guide and cut our pieces from orange, green and purple cover paper. Don’t forget to cut all of the solid black lines to create a fringe. You may even wish to roll or curl some of the fringe.
Step 5Glue each fringed piece in place at the bottom of one of the sides of the spinner, as shown. Allow to dry.
Step 6Use a hole punch to create three holes at the top of the spinner as shown. Position them in the middle and close to the top edge of each side of the spinner.
Step 7Cut three 20cm pieces of embroidery thread. Tie one end of a piece of thread to each of the holes created in step 6. Gather the pieces of thread at the top and tie them together to create a hanger.
Step 8Your Halloween Character Spinner is now ready to hang!
