Ahoy there Mateys!

Our BLMs can be completed in a variety of ways. Below are some hints and tips to help you get the most out of your blackline masters. These activities will equip children with important skills like colouring, cutting, gluing, folding, constructing and creative thinking.

  • Step 1Download our free Pirate Mask Template and print it out on cover paper. This will provide a great surface for decorating.
  • Step 2We have chosen to use paint, but feel free to decorate your mask using pencils, crayons or markers.
  • Step 3You may like to decorate your masterpiece with glitter. Attach with glue and allow to dry.
  • For less glitter wastage, use a scrap piece of paper folded in half to catch the glitter falling off your colouring sheet while decorating. This will make it easy to tip the glitter back into the container ready to reuse!
  • Step 4Cut out your completed design. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 5Place a piece of sticky tape behind each circle that is printed on the front of the mask, then cut out each circle. Cut a length of elastic long enough to wrap around your head. Tie the elastic to your mask using the holes you have just created. Your mask is now ready to wear!
