Weather Brooches

Step 1Download and print out the template provided. Cut out the template pieces. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Place the template pieces on each coloured felt sheet according to the colour written on the template. Trace around the pieces onto the felt.
Step 3Cut out the felt shapes and group the pieces according to the design. You can cut out multiple shapes to create a combination design, such as a sun with a rainbow.
Step 4To create a rainbow: Place the red shape down first, glue the orange shape on top aligning the bottom edges and allow to dry. Place the yellow piece on top of the orange piece and glue in place. Repeat with the green, blue, and then purple piece. Allow the glue to dry between each colour and ensure the bottom edges are aligned.
Step 5To create a storm cloud: Place a small white cloud over a large black cloud so the ends overlap. Place the lightning bolt just under the white cloud and move it into your desired position. Glue the pieces in place and allow to dry.
Step 6To create a sun: Glue the orange circle shape onto the centre of the yellow pointed shape and allow to dry.
Step 7Remove the paper backing from a brooch back to reveal the sticky surface. Place one brooch back onto the back of each of your felt designs and press down firmly to keep in place.
Step 8Your Weather Brooches are now ready to wear!
