Feathered Headband

This headdress is wonderful for dress ups. Research some of the different tribes that make up the Native American culture. Create your own then have fun playing and wearing it!

Search terms: pretend play, imaginary play, hairdresser, culture, Native American, Indian tribe.

  • Step 1Measure a piece of fabric around your head. Cut the required length to fit around your head.
  • Fold the edges of your fabric over and secure in place with fabric glue. Allow to dry. This will stop it from fraying.
  • Step 3Cut 2 lengths of yarn to create a tie to secure the band to your head.
  • Step 4Secure a piece of yarn to each end of your band with fabric glue. Allow to dry.
  • Step 5Use fabric markers to decorate and create patterns on your band.
  • Step 6Turn your band over and using a hot glue gun, attach feathers to your band. You may to like attach beads threaded onto twisted chenille stems. This will add texture to your headdress.
  • Step 7Now your headdress is complete and ready to wear!
