Step 1Download and print our template - we recommend printing onto cardboard for a sturdier base. Decorate the template using markers before cutting out. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Add holes using a hole punch in the top corners, as indicated by the grey circles.
Step 2Use different coloured markers to colour five pegs. We have chosen to use red, pink, brown, blue and green on the ends. You can also use a permanent pen to write the colour on the front of each peg.
Step 3Use glue dots to attach the back of your pegs to the template, making sure they are spaced out evenly.
Step 4Cut a 60cm length of twine and thread each end through the top holes of your template. Carefully secure the twine with double knots to create a hanger.
Step 5Your Nature Colour Hunt is ready to use! Go exploring outside and try to find the colours on your pegs in small objects from nature. Always ensure you have permission before collecting anything from the local environment and adult supervision is recommended. Once you find something that matches, use the peg to secure it to your display. Happy hunting!
