Step 1Before you begin plan out your Earth design. Look at images and maps of the Earth and lightly sketch different countries onto your plate using a pencil.
Step 2Mix a small amount of blue paint with white paint to make a light shade of blue. Paint your paper plate in the light blue paint mixture. Allow to dry.
Step 3Roughly rip green tissue paper into small pieces. Coat the countries you have drawn on your plate in slightly watered down PVA glue and cover with green tissue paper pieces.
Step 4Gently paint over the green tissue paper with a coat of green glitter paint. This will help stick stray pieces of tissue down and add a touch of sparkle.
Step 5Choose three cutout shapes and draw World Environment Day themed pictures on them using markers. Look to our design or research other ideas for inspiration.
Step 6Using a hole punch cut a hole in the top of each decorated cutout shape. Cut three holes in the bottom of your paper plate Earth. Cut four lengths of blue yarn 30cm long. Thread each cutout shape with blue yarn and tie each cutout shape at different lengths to the bottom of the paper plate.
Step 7Cut a hole at the top of your paper plate and thread a piece of yarn (30cm) for hanging.
