Step 1Print and cut out the templates provided. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Using a pencil, trace around the Front, Back and Hanger template pieces onto your choice of coloured felt. Cut out the felt shapes, making sure you also cut out the centre of the Front piece to create a frame.
Step 2Using the Acetate template, trace and cut out a rectangle of acetate. Use tacky glue to attach the acetate to the front felt frame piece. Allow to dry.
Step 3Place the front felt piece on top of the back piece, making sure the side where the acetate is glued is not visible. Ensure the bottom edge of the felt pieces meet, leaving a small gap at the top.
Step 4Cut a length of embroidery thread at least four times the size of the outer edge of the back piece of felt. Thread onto a sewing needle. Adult supervision is recommended when using sewing needles. Begin blanket stitching around the edge of the felt to join the two pieces together. Along the top edge, make sure you only stitch through the back layer of felt.

Step 5When you reach the middle of the top edge, fold the hanger felt piece in half and place over the back felt piece. Hold in place and continue to stitch through the hanger to secure it to the back felt piece.
Step 6Continue stitching around the edge until you reach your first stitch. Tie a knot to secure. Remove the needle and trim any excess thread.
Step 7Decorate the back of the frame. Use the cupcake template to cut the pieces out of your choice of coloured felt. Alternatively, you could sketch and cut out your own design for the back panel of the frame. Use tacky glue to secure your felt pieces to the back of the frame. Allow to dry. Complete your design with felt stickers and glue on some sequins. Allow to dry.
Step 8Decorate the front of the felt frame using heart and star felt stickers.
Step 9Print out your favourite photo and cut it down to size using the Acetate template as a guide. Slide the photo into the top of the pocket on the felt holder. Attach a carabiner clip to the felt hanger at the top of the photo holder.
Step 10Your Felt Photo Holder is now ready to use or gift!
