Beaded Hearts

This quick and easy craft is perfect for little people as they develop their fine motor skills, while creating a beautiful gift for a loved one! Each message can be personalised, making for an inclusive craft suitable for celebrating days such as Valentine’s Day or Mother’s and Father’s Day.
  • Step 1Decide what message you’d like your heart to say and find the alphabet pony beads needed to spell it out.
  • Step 2Begin threading the letters in order onto a chenille stem. Thread a pony bead between each word if there is more than one. Push the beads into the middle of the chenille stem.
  • Step 3Fill the rest of the chenille stem with pony beads, leaving approximately 1cm of chenille stem visible at each end.
  • Step 4Twist the end of the chenille stems together to create an enclosed loop. Bend the loop into the shape of a heart.
  • Step 5Cut a 20cm piece of chenille stem. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Wrap the middle of the chenille stem piece around the top, centre point of the heart. Twist the free ends of the piece together to create a hanger.
  • Step 6Your Beaded Heart is now ready for gifting and displaying!
