Wooden Tool Box with Tool Belt

This nifty little tool box is all dolled up with its tool belt and tools! It's the perfect spot for Dad to leave his coins, nuts and bolts all the other bits and bobs that come out his pocket after a hard day at the office.

Search terms: fun with wood, woodwork. 

  • Step 1Assemble your wooden tool box before decorating for easy construction. For permanent assembly you will need to glue the pieces together.
  • Step 2Paint your tool box with a coat of white paint. This is not essential but provides a good base for painting. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3Paint your tool box with bright colours. Allow to dry.
  • Step 4To create a tool belt cut two pieces of felt approximately 10cm x 5cm.
  • Step 5Thread a needle and sew the two pieces of felt together leaving one long edge open.
  • Step 6Sew three equally spaced slits up the tool belt to create four pockets along the belt.
  • Step 7Use glue to attach the tool belt to the side of your wooden tool box using glue. Allow to dry.
  • Step 8Decorate some wooden tool shapes with paint and collage materials and use them in your tool belt.
