Father's Day

Dad Mask

This Father's Day you can play a trick on Dad and dress up just like him! What a hoot! Think about all of the things that make your Dad individual – a beard, blonde hair, maybe glasses?

  • Step 1Begin by giving your mask a coat of skin coloured paint. Allow to dry.
  • You can create a skin tone by mixing a small amount of brown paint with white paint. You can add more brown paint for a darker tone.
  • Step 3Paint on some facial features, like eyebrows, lips and eyelashes. Allow to dry.
  • Step 4Use yarn to create hair. We cut individual strands of yarn to create straight hair. Attach with PVA glue.
  • Step 5Use crepe paper to create facial hair. We cut small squares of crepe paper and scrunched each square into a little ball, then attached with glue. You could use this technique to create all sorts of facial hair, not just a beard!
  • Step 6Create a beanie for Dad using felt. Cut the pieces of felt to size, using the mask as a guide and attach with glue.
  • Step 7Complete the beanie with a pom pom on top. Attach with glue. Now you can dress up as Dad on Father’s Day and make him laugh!
