Reindeer Pop Up Card

Surprise your friends and family this Christmas with a cute pop up reindeer card!

This blackline master can be completed in a variety of ways. Below are some hints and tips to help you get the most out of your BLM. These activities will equip children with important skills like colouring, cutting, gluing, folding, constructing and creative thinking.

  • Step 1Print the templates onto cover paper or cardboard. We have used cardboard for our pop up reindeer card. This will provide a good surface for decorating and a sturdy base for constructing the card. Cut out your templates. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
  • Step 2Glue the tongue to the antlers, making sure it is centred. Use the image provided as a guide. Allow to dry.
  • Step 3On the front of your card, cut a slit in the centre 3cm long and 4cm from the top.
  • Step 4From the back of the card, feed the tongue through the slit.
  • Step 5Fold the tab at the top of the reindeer's face following the dotted lines on the template provided. Align the face between the antlers as shown in the image provided. Place glue along both sides of the face and attach to the card. DO NOT glue the middle or bottom of the reindeer face to the card. Allow to dry.
  • Step 6On the inside of your card, use sticky tape to attach the face to the back of the antlers. Make sure the tab is loosely stuck down to allow room for the antlers to move.
  • Step 7Add features to the reindeer's face.We have used wiggle eyes, a pom pom for the nose, pen to add eyelashes and glue on ears.
  • Step 8Your pop up card is now ready to use! Pull the reindeer's tongue and watch the antlers rise!
