Step 1Download and print the provided templates onto regular copy paper. Choose which design you would like to create, then carefully cut along all lines on the template, removing the inner shape. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Apply a light amount of glue to the back of the template and wrap it around your mug, positioning your shape where you would like it to be.
Step 3Use a Glass & Porcelain Marker to trace around the outline of the template before removing it. Tidy up any lines as needed.
Step 4Draw lines through the design on your mug to break it up into smaller sections, creating a stained glass pattern. You can make these sections as small or large as you like. Allow to dry completely to avoid the colours bleeding into each other in the next step.
Step 5Add colour to each section to complete your design! Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 6Place your mug into a cold household oven. Once the temperature has reached 160°C, bake your mug for 90 minutes to heat set your design. Adult supervision is recommended when using an oven.
Remember when baking your porcelain mug, DO NOT pre-heat the oven. The difference in temperature may cause your porcelain mug to crack. Instead, put your porcelain mug into a cold oven, then turn the oven on. Click here for more tips.
