Step 1Print out and decorate the templates provided. We recommend printing onto regular copy paper for easier construction. You can decorate our colour in templates (pages 1-4) or create your own designs using the blank template on page 5. You will need four templates total to complete this activity. Cut out your decorated templates. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Take your two pairs of globe pieces. You will need two with slots on the top and two with slots on the bottom. Lay them on the desk in front of you so that for each matching pair, one is facing print side up and the other print side down. Add glue to the surface of the face down pieces and then glue the face up piece on top being careful to align them perfectly. You will now have two pieces, printed front and back, to construct your globe with. Allow to dry.
Step 3Slot the two pieces together to make your globe. It will be able to stand freely on your desk.
Step 4Flatten the constructed globe and place on the desk in front of you. Glue your first design in place on the globe before adding a message below using a permanent pen. Allow to dry.
Step 5Open the globe so the next blank face is showing then flatten the globe onto your desk again. Glue your next design in place and write a message underneath. Allow to dry. Repeat this process for the remaining two designs, folding and gluing until the globe is complete. Allow to dry.
Step 6Your Earth Day 3D Globe is now ready to display!
