Step 1Print out the template provided. We recommend you print onto cover paper as this provides a great surface for decorating and makes a sturdier rhino!
Step 2Colour in the template using pencils, markers or paint. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 3Cut out the template pieces using scissors. Be sure to only cut around the outside black outlines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 4Take the body template piece and mountain fold along all of the dashed lines. Place glue or double sided tape on the tabs, then secure the front and back sections of the body to the tabs to complete the body shape. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 5Take the neck template piece and mountain fold along the centre dashed line. Valley fold along the other dashed lines. Place glue or double sided tape on the back of the curved tabs, on the side that is not decorated. Attach the curved tabs to the grey oval on the body labelled ‘Neck’ so the curves sit along the outline of the oval. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 6Mountain fold along the dashed line on the head template piece. Attach the back of the head to the straight tabs at the top of the neck piece. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 7Take the horn and mountain fold along the centre dashed line. Valley fold along the other dashed lines. Place glue or double sided tape on the back of the curved tabs, on the side that is not decorated. Attach these tabs to the grey oval on the head labelled ‘Horn’ so the curves sit along the outline of the oval. Allow to dry if needed.
Step 8Your 3D Rhino is now ready to display for World Rhino Day!
